THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AT 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF TRAFFIC HIT HER VEHICLE HEAD ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RIGHT SIDE OF HER BODY WAS SORE DUE TO THE IMPACT, HOWEVER, SHE DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING. THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE OTHER DRIVERS INJURIES WERE UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAVE YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (AUTONATION HYUNDAI CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS, 6686 S PADRE ISLAND DR., CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, (361) 444-0156) WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED PER THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED AND THE SEAT BELT RECALL WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE CONTACT ALSO SUSTAINED LEFT AND RIGHT LEG AND KNEE SCRATCHES AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER AND REAR MIDDLE SEAT PASSENGER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE ALSO SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION, BUT THE EXTENT OF THEIR INJURIES WAS UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS.
