LCD SPEEDOMETER HOUSING SHOWS SIGN OF AN OVER HEATING ISSUE. DEALER SAYS IT'S FROM THE SUN, THE PLASTIC HOUSING AND LENS IS BADLY DAMAGED. THIS COULD CAUSE WATER TO LEAK INTO THE UNIT AND SHORT CIRCUIT, INSIDE THE UNIT. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP, ABRUPTLY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD THE UNIT WOULD BE REPLACED, BUT ONLY THIS ONE TIME, UNDER WARRANTY. THE TYPE OF PLASTIC SHOULD BE CHANGED TOO WITH STAND THE HEAT OF THE SUN BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. *JS

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 Honda Ctx700 verdict →
