The contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while in park(P), the vehicle rolled, requiring the driver to turn off and restart the vehicle, and the vehicle successfully shifted in park(P). Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked. The contact stated that while driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle shut off, and the steering wheel and the wheels locked up. The contact was barely able to pull over to the side of the road, where the contact waited before restarting the vehicle. The contact stated that the Check Engine warning light was recently illuminated. The vehicle was towed to two independent mechanics, where several diagnostic trouble codes associated with the transmission and the transmission module and solenoid were retrieved. The contact was then referred to a transmission specialist, where the vehicle was towed and was being diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Engine randomly shuts off when driving for no reason. Will restart and check engine light comes on. Has now happened three times , twice to me in traffic. One of those the car went into a limp mode where it wouldn't drive above 30mph at most. This is very unsafe in the middle of highway traffic. The second happened approaching a traffic light , I put the car into neutral and luckily it restarted and check engine light came on. The third time my wife had her friends in the car and it shut off at a light , she had no idea what to do. I had her stay there and brought her our other car. I have read this is caused by a known fuse box issue. They should be made to fix this problem before someone gets seriously hurt driving in traffic.

After I put my car in park my daughter and I were still in the vehicle for a few minutes getting our things with the engine still running. I got out to get something from the back seat, my daughter got out the passenger door and made it to the driver side as I was closing the back passenger door. I was about to get back on the car to get the rest of my things and turn the ignition off but before I could my car was rolling backwards out of the driveway into the street. I was able to jump in the vehicle and put my foot on the brake and the put the gear into Park. There’s no way possible I didn’t put it in Park with me getting out already and my daughter couldn’t have accidentally shift the gear because she couldn’t have been able to get out, close the door and make it to the driver side before it started rolling away. Once I got the car stopped, I noticed the driver seat was now all the way to the steering wheel and completely to the floor with the headrest also tilting inwards and now the electrical for the seat will not work. There is a recall for this issue but my vin# is not included. I cannot even drive my car now because the seat is so far up and inclined. what if the seat moves up more while I’m driving and it has me pinned between the steering wheel and the seat. I don’t feel safe driving it, having my daughter as a passenger and it’s really not safe to be on the road. I’m still paying on this car and now i won’t even be able to drive to work. So I’ll probably lose my job. This car has multiple issues and I think is an electrical problem. It’s also a known major defect on this model but still not a recall for my vin #! None of my interior sound works. Speakers, blinkers, alerts, back up camera. The auto start won’t start, I have to press the key fob multiple times to lock and unlock. This car is extremely unsafe to drive and I strongly feel my cars vin# should be listed under the recall. Its going to really affect my daily life and means of income. Lemon!

My 2014 GMC Acadia constantly displays “Service Stabilitrak,” “Service Traction Control,” ABS, brake, and check-engine warning lights. The vehicle will not accelerate past 40 mph under normal driving. Recently, the vehicle began showing “Engine Power Reduced” randomly without any warning, and the vehicle loses power suddenly. The OBD2 code P1682 (Ignition 1 Circuit/Relay failure) appears every time. This issue has caused the vehicle to jerk, lose acceleration, and even stall in the middle of an intersection during rush-hour traffic while my children were in the car, creating a serious safety hazard. These warnings and symptoms are constant, and the power-reduction events occur unpredictably. No official inspection has been completed by the manufacturer. The failed component is still in the vehicle and available for inspection. The malfunction affects traction control, stability control, braking systems, and engine power, putting occupants and other drivers at risk.

Vehicle is randomly stalling or going into limp mode when driving. Has done it in intersections, driving down the hight way and even stopped in a parking lot. No warning but throws codes unrelated to the problem. I’ve been told that it shuts off half of my engine randomly while running and that contributes to the stall. Can cause accident if stalls while turning or even if in wrong lane on high way. You loose all power steering and basically have to coast to safety. Sometimes it re starts some times your stuck there with no reasons for it to not re start. Usually it starts same day when this happens but hours later. Sometimes it stutters and you know it’s coming but not often will you get this warning. I’ve replaced every thing in every code it’s thrown and still can’t go a week without stalling out. Very unsafe for families just trying to go anywhere. Has done in an hour into a trip or three minutes down the road. All weather conditions as well. I’ve had it to two different garages with no luck yet. Have found a bulletin on wiring for the fuse box which seems promising for the issue but am worried about putting more money into something so unreliable. At this point it’s dangerous to drive and is a safety hazard.

Got onto the interstate and suddenly my car stopped but didn’t kill. My traction control light said off and then it said reduced engine power and my fuel went down to E. I couldn’t go but my car was still running. I killed it then waited a minute and started it again and it started moving slowly. Then it said service stabliltrak and traction system but since the light have went off. Around the same time I started hearing popping and crackling sounds from my speaker and now I have no interior sound at all just popping sounds no matter if my car is started or not. Vehicle stalls intermittently. Due to an earlier recall of the same model but not including the one I own. There is electrical shorting inside the fuse box in the ignition circuitry that causes this problem. This is a huge problem as there is no preemptive warning. Whether you're driving 5 mph or 55 mph it happens suddenly and without any warning. The incident is stored in OBDII codes. There are no warning lamps until after 5he vehicle stalls out. #PIT5643. I have had many problems relating to this vehicle, for only owning it for a year. Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading- My fuel gauge is inaccurate. It has resulted in my vehicle running out of fuel and stalling, while on road. I have 4 children who are at risk of danger while in vehicle.The fuel warning light has illuminated when the gauge needle says I still have more than plenty of amount (a quarter of a tank or more at times. It differs). I have taken to many shops, it was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. Electrical shorts and problems- Having electrical shorts on and off. Check engine light comes on/off Vehicle randomly failed to start with no good reason/cause. My vehicle was difficult to start and would require several attempts before starting. Power lock/unlock fob doesn't work, replaced battery multiple times. My windows and sunroof power windows do no work and unable to fully close on/off at times. Check airbag light has been coming on and off. Power Train intermittently, the transmission shifts with a loud thump, at various speeds. Vehicle starts shaking and jerking while shifting gears and going different speeds. My vehicle slows down, power reduce engine and steering difficult at times. Other/ water leak- Found water in all of my tail light assemblies, headlight assemblies, sunroof and windows leaking. There is no proper seal or has worn off, causing leaks in and repairs for many replacements, which are expensive temp fixes with no permanent solution. Causes accidents by not having necessary working equipment for driving conditions. Other:Hood doesn't latch and stay open so difficult to even check fluids properly alone. Multiple dealers have inspected problems, some have not been able to pin point the problem for some of these issues or have been charged unaffordable amount before fixing, and only diagnosing problem. There are recalls out for many of these problems and my vehicle needs to be on the list for serious safety issues!

While driving at 70mph legal speed limit the engine lost all power and ability to brake or steer with and power assistance, mechanic has since told me the timing chain failed and destroyed the engine. Vehicle had aproxmitly 99k miles on it and in good repair. No warning that it was going to fail and was told that this is a common failure with the engines in most gmc / chevy / buick mid size svu.

While traveling approximately 75mph the Service Traction Control light came on followed closely by the Low Oil Pressure Stop Engine Immediately light. We attempted to travel to a more safe area along the interstate. Within seconds the engine immediately shut off causing the loss of power steering and power brakes. The steering wheel locked in place causing the total loss of steering control. We were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop, I would attribute this success to my being a Defensive Driver Instructor and Transportation Safety Professional. The risk associated with the issues we were faced with could have easily ended in tragedy especially at this speed (75 mph, 80 mph zone) The diagnosis of the vehicle was inconclusive due to the number of codes that were shown. The vehicle was no longer functional and had to be replaced. No documentation, other than the bill for towing is available. Diagnosis was done at no charge.

THIS TIME IT RESTARTED AS NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER 4 TIMES SINCE OCTOBER AS IT HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN. THE DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR. FINALLY, THE ENGINE LOCKS UP AND WON'T START, TURN OVER, OR ANYTHING. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, THE CAR STARTS. THEN IT GOES THROUGH THE WHOLE CYCLE AGAIN OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TIL IT DOESN'T START AGAIN AND LEAVES US STRANDED. AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME, THE MCDANIEL GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHANGED OUT THE BATTERY AND BELIEVED THAT WOULD FIX IT. WE PAID $190 FOR THAT. IT DIDN'T WORK. IT WENT THROUGH THE SAME CYCLE AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH. NOW THEY EXPECT US TO PAY TO HAVE HE MODULE FIXED, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IT WHEN HEY SOLD IT TO US.

WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE 2014 GMC SIERRA 6.2 L V8 LOST POWER AND STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO STOP, AND REVERSE THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM THE INTERSECTION, TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN, IT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE TRUCK HAD UNDER 60,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST INCIDENT. IT WAS TOWED TO A GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN AUGUST OF 2019. THE ROCKER ARM AND EXHAUST SPRING HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE #2 CYLINDER, THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD TO BE REBUILT WITH A NEW HEAD. IN ADDITION THEY REPLACED 4 FUEL INJECTORS. IN DECEMBER OF 2019, A SECOND INCIDENT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH, I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO MY HOUSE TO GET IT HOME, PARK IT AND IT WAS TOWED TO A A CERTIFIED GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME IT HAD 61,752 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE NUMBER 5 SPRING BROKE. IT IS AT THE SHOP WAITING ON SPRING REPLACEMENT, THEY ARE IN BACKORDER, THERE IS NOT PROJECTED TIME THE REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETE.

THE STEERING TWO DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT WAS REALLY TIGHT AND HARD TO STEER AS IS THERE WERE NO POWER STEERING THE VEHICLE TWO DAYS LATER BROKE DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE I WENT FROM 70MPH TO 30MPH WITHIN SECONDS WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED THE SEAT BELT JERKED MY SHOULDER IT JERKED SO HARD WHEN THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER DUE TO WHAT THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAID WAS A TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE I SPENT 1600 GETTING THE POWER STEERING PUMP, WATER PUMP AND WHAT THEY SAID WAS A LOOSE WIRE CAUSING TH TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM FIXED JUST FOR THE CAR TO BREAK DOWN AGAIN WITH THE SAME TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE MESSAGE THE CAR SLOWED DOWN SO QUICKLY I HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY SEAT BELT ON AND THE BREAKS WERE VERY HARD TO PUSH I HAD TO CRAWL TO A STOP ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AGAIN AND NO STEERING THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE THERE SHOULD BE A LAW SUIT

THE GEARS SOMETIMES DOES A HARD PUSH WHEN CHANGING GEARS AUTOMATICALLY. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT KEEPS TURNING OFF AND DRIVER CAN NOT SEE THE SPEEDOMOTOR ETC.
