I was hit in and intersection while making a left turn. The other vehicle was traveling straight and hit my back quarter panel. I was spun around twice and smashed into another car as well as a pole. NONE of my airbags went off. So glad my Kid's where not in the car!

Air bag light is on constantly. Unknown if this affects the airbag in terms of deployment during an accident or if malfunction is the problem

My air bag service light is on when a passenger sits in it. Looking at others complaints this is a normal thing for GMC 2014 Acadia. I am wondering why a recall has not been done. I just bought this car 3 months ago and they are quoting me $600, stating it is not under recall list as it is not my curtain side air bag. Looking at others complaints- they have to have it repaired many times. This should be a recall!

Thinking it’s possibly the front passenger air bag isn’t working properly. The Air Bag light will go on and off for no apparent reason while someone is or isn’t in the seat. Makes me scared for anyone who is to sit in the front passenger seat; knowing that there’s possibly a danger issue.

Service Airbag light is on. Diagnostic code states it’s the wiring harness under the passenger seat causing an AMP draw. Mechanic told me there is a safety recall but I’m not seeing one for this issue, however I do see a lot of other complaints for this same issue. This is a safety issue and should be addressed.

I was involved in an accident on 03/31/2022 I was only passenger. Going about 35 mph hit a parked vehicle on passenger side of vehicle. Side air bags employed. But front air bags did not. I did get a concussion and left with scar from embrasion above right eyebrow from hitting steering wheel. Why did not the front air bag go out?

Twice in the past six months, the “Service Air Bag” warning light has come on. The first time, the wiring under the front passenger had to be resodered. Last week, the same warning came back on, and the wiring under both front seats had to be resodered. I feel this is a safety issue, and a design failure in this year and model car.

Service airbag light has been on since I’ve had the car. It was not covered by warranty (even though it is important?) in order to fix it I was quoted over $1000 which is ridiculous as I only had it a month before that and traction control became a issue. Warranty covered the traction but not the airbags.

I purchased my 2014 GMC Acadia Denali July 29th, 2021. It has been back to the dealer five times, with repairs not being completed. Within weeks of purchasing it, the Service Air Bag light came on, and won't go off. The low tire light came on. The serpentine belt broke and had to be replaced, and the power steering pump started making horrendous noises and leaking fluid. I bought an expensive service contract, and of course these repairs are not covered. I also had them repair tires twice, and ended up having to replace the two front tires, after being told there was nothing wrong with them, except one had a screw. They also said that tire rotation was causing the lights to go off, and wasn't reset, and supposedly they reset it to reflect where the tires are on the vehicle in relation to the TPMS's. Well, two tires lost air constantly, and there were numerous leaks. I finally took the vehicle to a real tire store for tire replacement. The estimate for the driver's side airbag system replacement is $1400 pre-tax, and the power steering pump replacement is $1100, pre-tax. So within two months, I've had nothing but trouble; spent $380 on two new tires, and will have the cost of these repairs on top of the extra $2200 I spent on a service contract. The vehicle is beautiful, and seemingly was well-maintained, but it immediately began breaking down. I've had very limited use of it since July 29th when I bought it. (it's now October 6th, 2021). I have a meeting with the owner of the dealership tomorrow, October 7th, at the suggestion of the dealership's repair manager, as well as the salesman.

A police report was not filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Air Bag Service code shows up. It can be removed briefly by moving the seat back and forth. I did some research and this is similar to the recalls for older years previously issued with the wiring harness causing the air bags to malfunction. This is extremely dangerous and is well known on many car complaint sites. Why has nothing been done? Thank you.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED MY AIRBAG LIGHT GOING ON FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. DUE TO IT BEING OUT OF WARRANTY, I TOOK IT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC TO GET IT REPAIRED. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A HARNESS UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT. LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT WAS THE HARNESS LOCATED UNDER THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE LIGHT HAS INTERMITTENTLY APPEARED AGAIN THE PAST 3 MONTHS

SERVICE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION REMAINS ON DUE TO UNREPAIRED SENSOR. I PAID THE DEALER ONCE TO MAKE THE REPAIR AND THE SERVICE NOTIFICATION CAME BACK ON A YEAR LATER, BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR THE REPAIR AGAIN. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT SO I'M NOT SURE IF THE AIRBAGS WILL WORK. HOWEVER, THIS HAS BEEN A CONCERN. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER AND THIS PROBLEM BEGAN WITHIN A FEW YEARS. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME WITHOUT CHARGING ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

2014 GMC ACADIA WENT ABRUPTLY INTO WHAT THEY CALL LIMP MODE. THE ENGINE LOST POWER, WITH A MASSIVE SHUTTER THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE, NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH, SAYING REDUCED POWER, LOW VOLTAGE, TRACTION CONTROL/STABILITY CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAVE DONE SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND SEEMS TO BE A BIG ISSUE FOR THE ACADIA! A RECALL TO GENERAL MOTORS IS IN ORDER SO ALL THESE SAFETY ISSUES GET ADDRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THERE ARE STORIES THAT THE DEALERS HAVE FIXED THEM BUT A WEEK OR TWO LATER THE ISSUES RETURNED. PLEASE HELP US

"SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND STAYING ON. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED FROM AND THEY TOLD US THE PROBLEM WAS UNDER THE SEAT AND HE RECONNECTED THE WIRES AND TOLD US IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. IT HAPPENED OVER AND OVER. IF YOU MOVE THE SEAT, IT WOULD TURN ON OR OFF. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPLACED BUT INSTEAD THEY TOLD US THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS IN THE DOOR. WE PAID THE $450.00 AND 7 DAYS LATER THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" CAME ON AGAIN. WE ARE TAKING IT BACK TOMORROW. THIS ISSUE, TO ME, IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK BECAUSE OF THIS NOT BEING FIXED CORRECTLY.... COULD CAUSE A DEATH. THIS BEGAN IN LATE 2019. IT COMES ON AT START UP, OR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT COMES ON ANYTIME AND HAS STAYED ON AND UNABLE TO CLEAR IT UNTIL WE FIGURED OUT TO MOVE SEAT AND IT TURNS ITSELF OFF, SOMETIMES.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2014 GMC Acadia Limited verdict →
