DURING THE CRASH, THE 3RD ROW PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONED AND FAILED TO SECURE THE 7 YEAR OLD PASSENGER WHILE SEATED IN A BOOSTER. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT HAVE BEEN COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE PROBLEM AND FORD HAD BEEN UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. ON NOVEMBER 27, 2017, A FORD DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THAT THE CAR HAD A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE. THE CAR HAS 60,472 MILES. THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 60,000. FORD HAS NOT OFFERED TO EXTEND ANY SORT OF WARRANTY RELIEF EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS 472 MILES OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. MY HUSBAND WAS IN A FRONT-END COLLISION IN JULY 2017. ALTHOUGH THE CAR THAT HE HIT WAS TOTALLED, THE AIRBAGS IN OUR FORD DID NOT DEPLOY, A FACT THAT SHOCKED MANY PEOPLE CONSIDERING THE DAMAGE TO THE OTHER CAR. THE PROBLEM IS REPEATABLE EVERY TIME: PUT VENT SYSTEM IN RECIRCULATION MODE, SUSTAINED ACCELERATION OVER 3,000 RPM, WAIT 5 SECONDS, STRONG SULFUR ODOR COMES THROUGH DASH BOARD VENTS. I AM NOW EXPERIENCING HEADACHES ON A CONSISTENT BASIS AS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE MORE OFTEN FOR COMMUTING SINCE PURCHASING IT IN MARCH 2017 WITH 25K MILES. TSB 14-0130 IS FORD'S CHEAP ATTEMPT TO HIDE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND AVOID A COSTLY RECALL OF OVER 1 MILLION VEHICLES. THE EVIDENCE CONTINUES TO MOUNT, INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED, COUNTLESS EXPLORER OWNERS HAVE EXPENDED MUCH RESOURCES IN FILING COMPLAINTS, AND FORD SAYS, "THESE VEHICLES ARE SAFE. I'M WORRIED THAT THIS EXHAUST INTO MY CAR IS MAGNIFYING MY HEALTH ISSUES. REGARDLESS, IT IS A DANGER TO HAVE THIS EXHAUST COMING IN THROUGH THE CAR. I AM TAKING TO FORD THIS COMING FRIDAY. I STOPPED IN TO TALK TO THEM AND THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ISSUES LIKE THIS. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE MERELY AS "FORD EXPLORE EXHAUST ISSUES" AND WAS SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED BY THE FACT THAT IT APPEARS VERY COMMON AND THAT A CIVIL SUIT WAS FILED IN FLORIDA. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE SAYING WARRANTIES SHOULD COVER THE FIX BUT I'VE READ WHERE THE FIX ISN'T WORKING EITHER. I WILL SEE WHAT THEY SAY ONCE THEY HAVE MY CAR BUT ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO REPORT IT SO THAT IT CAN BE RECTIFIED BY EVERYONE HAVING THIS VEHICLE DURING THE YEARS NOTED IN THE CLAIMS! IN JUST COMING TO THIS SITE ALONE I SEE THAT SEVERAL OTHERS ARE HAVING SAME ISSUES. I DON'T PAY THIS MUCH FOR A VEHICLE FOR IT TO MAKE ME SICK!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER PURCHASING A NEW 2014 FORD EXPLORER LIMITED. 3.5L 4WD LESS THAN 2 HOURS PRIOR, MY WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN WERE DRIVING HOME DOWN THE FREEWAY. AFTER A HARD ACCELERATION AN AWFUL SMELL FILLED THE CABIN. MY WIFE STARTED COUGHING AND I INSTANTLY FELT NAUSEOUS. I PULLED OVER THINKING SOMETHING WAS BURNING, MY WIFE THOUGHT IT WAS BURNING WIRES. I CHECKED OF THE VEHICLE BUT FOUND NOTHING BURNING. I DID HOWEVER WALK TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS OVERPOWERED BY THE SAME SMELL. I NARROWED IN DOWN TO THE EXHAUST PIPE. AFTER GETTING HOME I DID A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH AND WAS SHOCKED TO FIND MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THERE IS EVEN A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST FORD OVER IT. WHILE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION FROM THE SOUTH, A CAR CROSSED THE INTERSECTION IN FRONT OF US, TRAVELING EAST. I APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT NOT IN TIME TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR BROADSIDE. FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AS DID THE SIDE AIR BAGS ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE AIRBAG UNDER THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED ALSO. MY WIFE, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, SUFFERED A VERY SERIOUS CUT ON HER LOWER LEG, JUST A FEW INCHES ABOVE THE ANKLE. IT IS ORIENTED PRIMARILY CIRCUMFERENTIAL FOR AT LEAST 180 DEGREES AROUND THE TOP AND SIDES OF HER LEG. THE WOUND CUT TO THE BONE AND REQUIRED MULTIPLE LAYERS OF STITCHES TO REPAIR. HER DOCTOR SAYS THE BLISTERING AROUND THE CUT APPEARS TO BE CONSISTENT WITH A BURN. THERE WAS NO CAR FIRE, SO WE THINK THAT THE CUT AND BURN WERE LIKELY FROM THE AIR BAG. WE RENTED A 2014 FORD EXPLORER FROM AVIS OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. MY 10 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE SECOND ROW REAR-FACING IN HER DIONO RADIAN RXT CAR SEAT (SITTING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SUV). WHEN I PRESSED THE LEVER TO LET THE LEFT SIDE SEATS DOWN TO PUT MY TWO YEAR OLD INTO HIS CAR SEAT ON THE THIRD ROW, THE SPRING-LOADED SEATS LANDED ON HER LEG, TWISTING AND CRUSHING IT. NOW SHE HAS A BROKEN TIBIA! THERE IS A SERIOUS FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THESE SEATS. THEY ARE VERY HEAVY AND ARE SPRING LOADED SO THAT THEY FALL VERY HARD WHEN YOU PRESS THE LEVER. TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT ILLEGALLY CAME INTO THE LANE I WAS ENTERING (THEY WERE DRIVING ON THE SHOULDER), I HAD TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION, WHICH CAUSED ME TO TURN MY VEHICLE INTO A CURB. AT THE TIME, I WAS TRAVELING 15 TO MAYBE 20 MPH. AFTER HITTING THE CURB, MY VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND UPON INSPECTION I DISCOVERED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD COMPLETELY BROKEN IN HALF. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY SUBSEQUENTLY SERVICED THE VEHICLE, WHICH I PICKED UP ON MARCH 15, 2014. HOWEVER, WITHIN 100 MILES OF DRIVING, MULTIPLE SYSTEM ERRORS OCCURRED, AND MY STEERING WENT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW SAYING THERE WAS APPARENTLY AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY, AND THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FURTHER DIAGNOSE UPON REPLACING THAT PART. MY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND SPECIFICALLY THAT I DO NOT THINK A CONTROL ARM SHOULD SNAP IN HALF AT THAT SPEED, PARTICULARLY IN A SUV THAT HAS AN UPGRADED SUSPENSION AS PART OF THE TRIM PACKAGE. *TR
