I was traveling on the interstate and the vehicle RPMs jumped up to 4k but the vehicle began to slow down. I removed my foot from the accelerator to reduce the RPMs and then reapplied the accelerator which increased the RPMs to close to 5k but the vehicle continued to slow down. I traveled in the emergency lane until the next exit as the vehicle continued to lose speed down to 20 MPH. At the end of the exit ramp, I came to a complete stop and needed to make a left turn. During this turn, the vehicle did not exceed 10 MPH even though the RPMs exceeded 4k. Once I reached the parking lot of the gas station, I turned the car off. I opened the hood to see if there was anything noticeably wrong and was not able to identify anything. I restarted the vehicle and everything seemed to be functioning fine and was able to complete my trip to my destination. This incident was the second of its type in 2 years. I took the vehicle to a shop for diagnostics as I did the first time. This time the mechanic was able to identify a code that showed an issue with the transmission. I consulted my personal mechanic and was notified of the reported transmission issues with the 2013 Nissan Rouge. I then contacted Nissan regarding the issue and was advised that owners would not have been notified of the safety issue and that they could not assist with repairs of the reported safety issue.

At 96,000 miles, I was driving and the CVT transmission went out. I was able to pull over but had to have the car towed for service. Nissan has had numerous problems with failing CVT transmissions, some recalled. I had service done from the dealership - $6,000 was what I paid after negotiating a quote for $1,000 more for a new transmission. I did notice a revving issue just prior to the failure - RPM gauge showing fluctuations.

Lack of power under acceleration when driving upgrade hills. Engine RPMs increases but vehicles did not accelerate and stayed at about 40 mph in highway (with whining noise and oil smell). On the way back home, same thing happened when stopped at a traffic light, vehicle would not move with engine RPMs increases.

After about 1.5 hours of highway driving, the car suddenly started slowing down even with cruise control. When I exited, car shuddered and became sluggish at the STOP sign. I was afraid I would get hit behind on the highway. This is a transmission problem that has occurred multiple times in the last 16 months and is worsening. About 15 months ago, we changed the transmission fluid, which improved things but for only 8-9000 miles. Now it is worse than before.

When you drive highway speed for 45 mins it will drop your speed to about 45 you can't accelerate there is no power to get back up to speed and if you pull over and stop you can't go anywhere for a while. It is very unsafe ad this has happen to me in heavy traffic.

When driving the car it will start to slow down though i hit the gas it doesn't do anything, I have to try to find a safe place to pull over and not get hit by another car while doing so. If I stop and wait it will sometimes get better, but it started doing it more often so I stopped driving it. I'm usually driving in town on flat roads when it happens. There are no warning lights coming on, the engine temp gauge doesn't show overheating. If I put the transmission in neutral I can push the gas pedal and the RPM increases but not when the transmission is in gear. The battery is fine and has no starting issues. I have checked fluid levels and they are full.

Driving on NYS thruway when my vehicle suddenly started losing speed. I had the gas floored and could not get the car to accelerate. My speed dropped to 40 MPH with cars coming up fast behind me. I put on my flashers and exited the thruway.

Initially had transmission(Control valve) repaired/replaced in 2018 due to it stopping suddenly while on the highway. Gradually I began noticing it start to shudder(in particular while in drive but stopped), slow to accelerate and felt like it wasn't "catching" when hitting the gas and then jerks forward. Check engine light came on last week(Code P1740) and was informed it was the transmission and valve circuit again.

My 2013 Rogue air bag light started flashing randomly. This truck hasn't been in an accident. The other issue is with the transmission. I had previously experienced issues with the speed not accelerating when it heats up. Now my transmission light came on and it makes a wining noise. I was on the road and it started acting up not picking up speed. I was on a 70 highway and had to pull over wait for half an hour. Only difference is now my transmission light came on. It has 89k miles.

I was driving down the highway from the airport headed back home, and the car started to lose power. My foot was pressing the pedal to accelerate but the RPMS went past 3-4K and the speed kept going down. No engine lights showed up on the dash or any type of warning. I pulled over on the brim of the highway, I called someone who said to let it sit for a while and try again - i checked my radiator fluid - it was fine and didn't over heat. All electrical components work - i could barely accelerate. I was able to coast for a while at 60 mph and then when i needed to accelerate nothing happened. I tried to call the dealership today and they said there is no safety recalls - but i can see there is a CVT extended warranty in place, but not until 2014 Nissan rogue. I have a 2013 nissan rogue.

At 156k I'm getting told I have to replace my slipping transmission. I just recently had to replace my lower control arms. Diagnosed to replace my CV axle. Also, last year I had to pay to have my seat belts fixed since the rear passenger belts would not buckle leaving serious safety risks for my children

The transmission is going out and the car is less than 10 years old and it just hit 119,817 miles. I looked at the information on the Nissan Rogue's and it states that the manufacturer had a extended warranty on some of their Rogue's transmissions but not all of them for transmission repair, only some of their Rogues, because they apparently build a crappy transmission. I've looked up this extended warranty and any recall notices here but there are none showing. How do we get Nissan to fix their mess? This is ridiculous! I was driving down the interstate with my 9 month old grandson, when my car lost power and started jerking; I had to pull over and wait until the traffic was cleared so I didn't cause an accident. The car wouldn't go any faster the 18 MPH , not a safe place of the older lady and her grandson to be.. stuck on side of the interstate. After giving the car time to sit for awhile, we were able to get going again, but every time the car went over a certain speed, usually over 60 MPH, it would start to jerk again.

Just last week, the RPMs on my 2013 Nissan Rogue started going crazy, ramping up and down, the car started jerking -- turns out it was a sign of the transmission slipping -- but it returned to "normal" after a few minutes. We continued driving and were on the highway on our way home when all of a sudden, the car went from doing 65 mph to about 15 mph, even though my husband had his foot all the way down on the gas. It was petrifying as we were on a high-speed highway with a speed limit of 65 mph (with many people doing 80 mph), and in addition to our safety, we were concerned about our unborn baby--as I am 3 months pregnant. Thankfully this happened when we weren't terribly far from home and we were able to make it, riding on the shoulder with our hazards on but it was terrifying and definitely dangerous. The car gave no signs of these issues before and it had just passed inspection 2 weeks prior. The car has 92,000 miles; I bought it brand new in 2013; and it has been regularly maintenanced and serviced throughout the years. The check engine light finally came on close to the end of this ordeal (well after the gas pedal stopped responding) and when we brought it to the repair shop they confirmed it was the CVT--which they said is a known defect with many Nissan Rogues. I was frustrated to find out that a class action lawsuit was settled for 2014-2018 Nissan Rogues for CVT and although this a known defect of the 2013 Nissan Rogue as well, the dealership and the company said there's nothing they can do. Now we're looking at a $4,000+ bill to replace the transmission -- and I'm just praying we never have this issue again because this is our primary car for us, our 2-year-old, and by the end of the year, newborn baby. I was never notified before that this could be an issue but a quick internet search really opened my eyes.

Airbag lights randomly came on. I had to look up how to turn it off from YouTube and it worked. The transmission slips when hot meaning when I am stopped at a stop light and I go to push on the gas, first gear doesn’t kick in and I cannot operate for 5 seconds then it punches into place. If I am driving nonstop on the highway, the gears will go into over drive or won’t shift over and stay at max 3000rpm so I can only go about 45mph at that time. Everything appears fine until an hour or so into driving. The transmission fluid looks brown and because it’s a CVT transmission, the whole thing would have to be replaced. My dad works on cars and I also had called shops all around my area to simply get a fluid flush. Nissan has recalled their CVT transmission for this year and model in the past. There are no current claims for this year, however I’ve had the vehicle for a year and a half. Because I had my vehicle refinanced, I had lost all warranty benefits, even though I still qualify within that time and miles range.

I Have a 2013 Nissan Rogue AWD Sport. There is no single incident. Just the issue of the CVT Transmission breaking down every year I've owned this stupid car. Everything is fine. The car is 185k miles and do all the regular maintenance and the car is fine. The only issue is the Transmission has literally broken every year and the warranty even covered the first transmission break which happened within 3 months and then less than a year repaired/fixed by replacing the CVT with a refurbished transmission. Then about over a year later had a $2400 repair job on all the gaskets and seals on the transmission because of leaking and slipping. Same issue we'd push the gas and nothing would happen. Here I am about a year later on the dot from the $2400 repair and starting skippin and slipping again and my mother in law took the car to get checked out and it needs another transmission repair probably $1400 at least they won't fully know until they go in and look. 4 repairs in 4 years on the same part , the CVT transmission. Had I known this was going to be a continuing issue like this, I would've purchased a new car instead of going cheap on a used car in decent shape. I research Nissan and transmissions and there's lawsuit cases on the transmissions so apparently its not the old car or anything like that. Its a continuing issue with transmission and they should tell or warn people.
