While driving, I stepped on the brake pedal to slow down as I turned into a parking lot. The pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. I was able to pump the pedal and regain some pressure to park and come to a stop. I called my insurance company for roadside assistance and had the car towed to a nearby service station recommended by a friend. Once on the lift, the technician immediately found that the right front brake line had failed.

I was driving to work and preparing to enter the highway when I received a flashing "low brake fluid" warning light and alarm. Within the first 5 miles of highway driving (before I could reach the next exit) I continually lost brake pedal and brake pressure. By the time that I was safely able to exit the highway my brake pedal needed to be depressed all the way to the floor for me to stop. Obviously this put the safety of myself and others in grave risk. I was lucky to be able to exit the freeway when I did. I found out from the dealer that there was a "Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02" notice issued in September 2022 that addressed my issue, as well as offered a repair. The dealer, however, is unable to perform the work for at least a month. My car has been sitting in a parking lot pending some way for me to get a repair. With the severity and grave risk of bodily harm associated with this issue it NEEDS TO BE A RECALL and not a "customer satisfaction program." I could have died or killed a pedestrian.

I experienced a brake hose rupture on this 2013 Ford Fusion. This caused a gradual loss of braking power down to none, and fortunately the incident occurred at low speed without collision or injury. I understand that NHSTA has an open recall query on this possible issue: https://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2022/08/nhtsa-opens-brake-hose-query-could-result-in-recall-of-1-7m-ford-vehicles/ Christian Brothers automotive in Sun Prairie, WI serviced the vehicle following the incident, and may have more details relevant to your inquiry in their records.

I HAD STARTED MY CAR ONE MORNING AND NOTICED SOME "DUMMY" LIGHTS HAD NOT GONE OFF. I THEN GOT A NOTICE ABOUT "HILL SIDE ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" THAT WAS WEIRD AS I WAS ON A FLAT SURFACE. THEN I ALSO GOT A NOTIFICATION THAT SAID "SERVICE ADVANCETRAK". THE WARNING LAMPS THAT STAYED ILLUMINATED ARE ABS, FRONT AIRBAG, STABILITY CONTROL, AND STABILITY CONTROL OFF LIGHTS. WHILE I DROVE OFF, THE STEERING WAS AFFECTED AS WELL, IT WASN'T LIKE I HAD NO POWER STEERING, BUT IT WAS DEFINATELY MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER. I GOT TO WORK, CALLED THE DEALER, MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY CAR TO BE LOOKED AT. WHICH WAS THENEXT DAY. WHEN I WENT BACK TO MY CAR AFTER WORK, THE WARNING LIGHTS AND NOTIFICATIONS DID NOT APPEAR. THE NEXT DAY, WENT TO THE CAR, GOING TO WORK, ALL THE LIGHTS APPEARED AGAIN. CAR WENT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE SPEED SENSOR AND HUB NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST IS $635.00 FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS SORT FOR MY YEAR OF CAR. I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.

WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND YOU GO TO MAKE A STOP WITH THE VEHICLE AT LIKE 20 MILES TO 15 MILES PER HOUR THE BRAKING SYSTEM GO TO BREAKS REALLY HARD OR JERK. MAKE IT HARD FOR YOU TO STOP. AND FEEL LIKE YOU ABOUT TO FLY THROUGH THE WINDOW. MAKING THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT INDICATE, AND THE LIGHT WILL GO BACK OUT ON THE VEHICLE AS IF NOT HAPPENED ONCE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. AT 5 TO 10 MILES PER HOUR. THIS WILL HAPPEN VERY OFTEN WHILE DRIVING.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A MAIN CITY STREET (STRAIGHT AWAY) THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY SYSTEM LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ABS LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO TRY AND STOP ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ME APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. IT HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES AND I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND I AM IN FEAR OF DRIVING MY VEHICLE.

ADVANCE TRACK, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, BLINDSPOT, ALL LIGHT UP ON DISPLAY. WHEN ACCELERATING CAR IT MAKES A STALLING JERKING MOTION. FREQUENTLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES IT'S JUMPING FORWARD AND MAKING LOUD NOISES. ALSO WHEN RELEASING BREAKS, IT MAKES A SPRING LIKE NOISE. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.

I CALLED FORD BEFORE AND THE GUY ON THE PHONE SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND MY VIN HAD NOT BEEN INCLUDED. ALTHOUGH, THE SAME ISSUES THEY ARE SAYING IS HAPPENING IS HAPPENING WITH MY CAR RIGHT NOW. I PUT IT IN PARK IT DRIVES, I DO USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE AT ALL TIMES NOW, I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT GOES FORWARD, I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL IT REVERSES; IF THERE WERE AN EMERGENCY CURRENTLY I AM NOT ABLE TO HIT THE GAS AND REVERSE AND THE BRAKES SEEM TO SHUDDER WHEN STOPPING. I HAVE HAD TO FINAGLE MY WAY SINCE THIS STARTED HAPPENING UNTIL IT'S MY TURN TO GET MY CAR SERVICED BY FORD FOR A RECALL. AND THIS WILL BE THE SECOND APPOINTMENT SINCE IT WAS REPAIRED FOR RECALLS EARLIER ON IN THE YEAR.

WHILE I STARTED REVERSING TOWARDS MY DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE MY VEHICLE GOT COMPLETELY PARALYZED AS I CHANGED GEARS FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE, MY STEERING WHEEL, BRAKES AND SHIFT GEAR STOPED RESPONDING, I MANAGED TO CAREFULLY MOVE MY CAR TO A SAFETY LOCATION BUT I WAS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN I HAD TO LET MY CAR SLIDE DOWN THE ROAD OF MY HOUSE IN ORDER TO LET THE TRAFFIC (I HAD UNINTENTIONALLY CAUSED) CARRY ON. I THEN, PUT MY CARS EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND CALLED MY MECHANIC. LUCKILY FOR ME, THIS ALL HAPPEN INFRONT OF MY HOUSE, ACTUALLY, AFTER THE 2 HOUR DRIVE I HAD FINISHED COMING FROM, MY CONCERNS ARE WHAT IF THIS INCIDENT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN OUTSIDE OF MY TOWN, OR IN THE HIGHWAY, MY SAFETY AND EVEN MY OWN LIFE WAS ON THE LINE FOR A FEW MINUTES, I CAN ONLY BE LUCKY FOR SO LONG. A COUPLE DAYS AFTER, I CAME TO FIND OUT I DID NOT HAVE ONE RECALL INCOMPLETE BUT 3!, EVEN MORE SHOCKING, I DID NOT RECEIVE NOTICES FOR ANY OF THE 3 RECALLS FROM MY CARS DEALERSHIP. I WENT TO THEM IMMEDIATELY AND NOW AM WAITING FOR THEM TO CALL ME BACK TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT I BEEN TRYING TO MAKE ALREADY FOR THE PAST WEEK BUT TILL TODAY, I HAVE YET NOT RECEIVED A DATE.
