the speed sensor in transmission isn't working properly it shift down to 1st gear as shown in these recalls 19S07,19S19,AND 24S37. IM NOT SURE IF IT IS RELATED TO 19N01 in any way but the problem was that its showing on my vin that they conducted a recall 19S07 ON MY 2012 F-150 IN THE Past but then after that there was a 19S19 recalled ADDED because the prior 19s07 didn't work properly or hold up ,so what that meant was they should have made it aware to all vehicles that was performed with this reprogramming recall but they did not send any notification or make available to my f150 especially knowing the reprograming didn't hold up, so I was never granted access or authorization and notified that it need to be re done . also the problem I noticed says its with the software in 19s19 and 19s07 but this seems more like a speed sensor problem that's indicated in 24s37 and that seems to be a hardware issue ,if u look into this issue on line you'll notice the fix for this issue is for the sensor to be replaced in the transmission . I feel that ford should be responsible for the issue with my f150 .

While driving my vehicle speedometer goes to zero which no recognition of speed. If brought to a stop I can’t get out of first gear. Ford issued a “Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01” related to the 6R80 transmissions, Sudden Transmission Downshift. This “Customer Satisfaction” should have been a non expiring recall. The check engine sometimes flicks on but does not stay on or show a code. Issue is intermittent and lasts 10-15 min until vehicle recognizes it’s not incapable of shifting. Given this severely limiting malfunction I highly recommend the recall be extended indefinitely to make sure these vehicles are fixed properly.

While driving at highway speeds, about 55mph, transmission just jerked. Happened multiple times until I could get it in to be serviced. Service light comes on, speedometer goes to zero, safety lights come on and its not able to downshift. I fear this could be a very dangerous especially at this speeds.. After stopping and turning of the road it still would not reset. It would not reset until I parked the vehicle and shutdown then restarted. Picture attached shows the dash..... while going 55 speedometer went to zero. Was in 5 gear and would not change, mileage went to "--------" Engine light and Airbag lights come on...... NHTSA site shows no recalls but Ford does show their own recall. Ford will not cover this repair because they said they notified of a recall but nothing was ever sent to me or told to me in any previous trips to dealership. This is a known safety risk and Ford should still be pushing to get these parts replaced. Fords Campaign after to search online. 19N01 Description Transmission molded leadframe

F150 downshifted into first gear while driving down the highway at full speed. Speedometer stopped registering. Sudden and abrupt deceleration. Engine warning light on. Took the truck to the local Ford dealer, Malloy Ford Charlottesville, VA and Service department said the molded leadframe needed to be replaced per Customer Satifaction Program (CSP) 19N01, but Ford would not cover the cost. I believe that Ford needs to cover the cost. I never received a letter notification from Ford and had it in service at the same dealer in August 2022 and they did not notify me of the outstanding CSP and need to service per 19N01.

My 2013 F150 had been acting strangely in showing a wrench on the LED screen and shutting off the electrical components on my dash. when this happens, it also sticks the transmission in between 3-5th gear. I am unable to shift down to 1st or 2nd gear, or up to 6th gear. After this happened a few times, it started to shift me in to Park and stop my wheels from turning. This happened to me 3 times while traveling down the highway at 80mph. All 3 times, it lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough to screech my brand new tires and leave marks on the ground as if I had slammed on my brakes. It returns to normal and continues down the road.

My 2013 has the same transmission problem of an unexpected downshift to 1st gear while driving at highway speeds as the newer model year F150’s. I would like to see all F150’s with that model transmission (6R80) included into the recall. I believe this would include 2011 through 2018 model years.

The faulty output shaft speed sensor (OSS) causes a signal loss between the sensor and the powertrain control module (PCM), leading to a sudden downshift into first gear, regardless of the vehicle's speed. This sudden downshift can cause the rear tires to slide, potentially leading to a loss of control and an increased risk of a crasH. There is already a recall for the 2014 Models and my 2013 is having the exact same issue. This has been an ongoing problem since I bought the truck in December 2024

The Ford F150 has suddenly downshifted at highway speed and gone into limp mode. A maintance light shows momentarlly. I am working with local Ford dealerships to have the issue addressed. They suggest that it may be addressed under a field campaign that has expired. The sudden downshift and limp mode is a safety issue in traffic. The problem happens then goes away.

2013 Ford F150 speed control issues. When driving the vehicle will downshift hard. Thankfully I was not driving at higher speeds. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has been confirmed by a Ford dealership. I was told by the service manager that the truck was having the symptoms of the recall 19S07, but that the “recall has expired.” There were no warning lights prior to the problem. A wrench symbol appeared on my dash screen when the truck downshifted. I spoke with Ford customer support and they said there was no recall.

Safety issue. Engine code P0720 which means the output speed sensor sends erratic signals to the power train module or PCM. There is a recall on this truck for this exact thing. What happens is the gears in the transmission don’t shift smoothly and what happened to me was I was driving 70mph all of sudden the truck made a loud bang and I was in 6th gear and the truck went from being in 6th gear just dropped into 1st gear and at 70mph it’s pretty frightening. The brakes locked up and i managed to stay calm and regain control of the vehicle and pull over. Immediately I seen a big yellow wrench on the dashboard along with the check engine light so I turned it off and restarted it thinking maybe the computer will reset. The truck is literally stuck in like 3rd or 4th gear because I can’t go past 40 mph. I was only 5 mins away from home as soon as I got home I use my code machine and the engine code I received was P0720. I contacted my Larsen Ford in Lakewood NJ they informed me about the recall but told me that they’re not paying for any repairs because it’s past 10 years. It ended in January of 2024. I didn’t buy the truck until July 2024 I had no idea about any recalls. I’m not the original owner. I just assumed since it’s a safety issue that the manufacturer must be responsible for all repairs regardless of how long it’s been. I bought the truck with only 38,000 miles on it presently it has 40,000 miles on it now but I don’t think it’s fair that I have to pay for everything to be fixed myself.

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious and potentially life-threatening safety issue with my 2013 Ford F-150. I recently experienced a sudden and dangerous failure while driving on the freeway, which nearly caused a major accident. After doing some research, I discovered that this issue was previously addressed under a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program, but the coverage period has since expired. This is a common and well-documented issue among 2013 F-150 owners, and it is unacceptable that Ford has not issued a full recall. Just because the program has expired does not mean the risk has. In my case, the issue escalated to a near-death situation, and I’m extremely concerned that this will happen to someone else—if it hasn't already. I urge NHTSA to investigate this further and hold Ford accountable. There is no reason such a serious safety defect should go unresolved simply because the time window has closed. A dangerous defect is still dangerous, regardless of the date. Please let me know what steps I can take to further assist with this report or if you need additional documentation. I hope this can help prevent future tragedies. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] VIN: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Truck dropped into lower gears without notice from high speed (and at low speeds). Engine revs and actually speeds up without foot on gas pedal without warning. Speedometer will stop working when this happens also. Almost caused accident. Other similar vehicles from 2013-2019 are in recall for similar issues. Ford won't fix and says it is not an issue for this vehicle.

Truck has been thrown into limp mode multiple times with codes P0720 and P0722 being thrown per OBD scanner. Turning the truck off and on gets rid of the wrench and check engine light and allows the transmission to work normally again. The first two times were on acceleration, months apart. It now does this consistently at highway speeds so I am unable to take it on busy roads, the last time I was on the interstate I was going below traffic speed with hazards on until the exit because the truck slowed from 80 to 40. It couldn't get up the ramp after pulling off so I took side roads home. As far as I can tell this is associated with customer satisfaction program 19N01 and Ford sold these trucks with a faulty lead frame. The truck is 12 yrs 120k miles instead of the 10 yr 100k warranty Ford offered for this part specifically, I don't see how the age makes a difference if Ford has admitted to using faulty parts in the transmission already

Vehicle dash lights will come on while driving (wrench light specifically) and vehicle looses all power and drops to 0 RPM 0 Speed. This has happened multiple times and is extremely dangerous! After 4 months, we finally got our appointment at a Ford dealership where they diagnosed the lead frame needs to be replaced. Truck is a 2013 Ford F150 with 114,000 miles and there is a bulletin for this concern but the truck is out of warranty by age. The total bill is $1,769.54 and I contacted Ford to see if they would help for customer satisfaction and was told no.

I have had a problem with the transmission molded lead frame 19N01 it also shows a wrench when this problem occurs. This caused my vehicle to not show the speed limit of my vehicle. It also caused my vehicle not be able to accelerate. I then worried about this problem due to this incident was on the highway and almost caused a crash.

My wife was driving my truck and the gear light came on the dash. The truck went into limp mode in the middle of traffic and about caused her to get hit from behind. I took the truck to Long Lewis Ford in Prattville Alabama and was told that I was a year out of warranty for the recall that is on the transmission for my truck. Ford knows they had issues with 2013 F150's but now they do not want to fix my transmission. So I have to spend $800 to 1k on fixing my transmission when Ford knew they have an issue and are willing to let people drive unsafe vehicles.

Ford recalled 107,850 2013 Ford F-150 trucks with 5.0-liter or 6.2-liter engines due to a transmission issue. The recall was issued on June 10, 2019, with the recall number 19V433000. The transmission could unexpectedly shift into first gear, regardless of the vehicle's speed This could cause a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash I took the truck to Ford to fix and they did not fix the issue after saying they did and confirming there was an issue. This appeared 2 months ago and since then I have been getting the run around from ford.

Trying to take off from a parking spot the truck would not shift from first gear. The exact same thing has happened about four or five more time since the first always in the same manner. One time it shifted into third gear and stuck there. When this happens the dash cluster does not read anything. it just shows what gear it is in. No rpm, no speed.

Driving on the highway and suddenly lost total power. RPMs dropped to zero, speedometer dropped to zero. Truck attempted to downshift immediately and caused the truck to jerk aggressively. All dashboard readings disappeared, mileage, etc. Wrench displayed on screen and airbag sensor lit up. Sudden downshifting of the vehicle and jerking could have caused a wreck or loss of control of the vehicle. Potential injury to passengers/children in vehicle. Pulled on side of road and turned off the vehicle. Restarted it with no lights on dash and gauges back to normal. "Limped" truck to the Ford dealership for inspection and it was confirmed to be the Lead Frame Sensor by stored code reading.
