THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED SMOKING, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY FIRE WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN. MY 2013 DODGE CHALLENGER ONLY HAD 20,000 MILES ON IT, AND ALL SERVICE WAS DONE AS RECOMMENDED BY DODGE, AT A CERTIFIED SHOP. I REPORTED THE ISSUE TO DODGE, AND THEY DENIED ANY MANUFACTURING DEFECT, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY MODEL, BECAUSE OF KNOWN ISSUES REGARDING ALTERNATORS OVERHEATING, OR SHORT CIRCUITING, CAUSING THERMAL DIODE FATIGUE. THE CAR WAS CONSUMED BY FLAMES WITHIN MINUTES, AND WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A SETTLEMENT. *BF *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2013 Dodge Challenger verdict →
