The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost power steering and another vehicle slightly crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that he forcefully steered the steering wheel and veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he was unable to drive the vehicle after several attempts. The lightning bolt warning light illuminated. The vehicle was pushed to his residence with assistance. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

DURING DRIVING IN THE RAIN THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS INTO PLACE THEN AFTER COMPLETE STOP STEERING IS BACK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE THERMOSTAT RISES TO THE MAXIMUM THEN THAT LIGHT COMES ON. THEN AFTER 5MIN OR SO TEMP GOES BACK DOWN BOTH ENGINE AND TEMP LIGHTS GO OFF BUT BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT'S HEAVILY RAINING.

WAS DRIVING ON I95N COMING FROM FLORIDA AND ABOUT 12AM MY CAR WAS FEELING VERY LOOSE IN THE FRONT AND SO THEN MY STEERING POWER WAS GONE AND THE CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND WE CRASH ONTO THE RIGHT SIDE RAILING AND THEN AGAIN ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THE CAR WENT FLYING INTO THE DITCH. I WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION BECAUSE I NO LONGER HAVE THE CAR THE BANK TOOK IT AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT. THANK YOU ....UPDATED 04/08/15 *BF *TR
