2012 Mercedes C250 caught fire with no warning. Drove about 5 miles to the store and parked the car. A passerby said your car is on fire. Within minutes the entire front of the car was ablaze. The vehicle was towed to the city impound lot and has not been inspected by anyone.

MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE. I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED IT OR WHERE IT STARTED, BUT THERE WERE FLAMES COMING OUT BETWEEN THE TIRE AND THE DOOR FRAME. THE CAR WAS ON WHILE I WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY. I RAN A REPORT ON MY VEHICLE AND THE TENSIONER HAD BEEN REPLACED BEFORE I PURCHASED IT AND ALSO AFTER I PURCHASED IT. I BELIEVE IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE V-BELT TENSIONER AS IT WAS ALWAYS MAKING SCREECHING SOUNDS. I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO HAVE MY CAR INVESTIGATED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE.

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2012 Mercedes-benz C-class Coupe verdict →
