2011 TOYOTA YARIS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE TRUNK LID PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRUNK LID WOULD COME DOWN ON HIS HEAD, WHEN THERE WAS A SLIGHT BREEZE OR WHEN PARKED FACING UP A STEEP HILL. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, REPLACING THE EXISTING TRUNK SPRINGS WOULD NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE DOME LIGHT DID NOT HAVE A MODE TO TURN ON, WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPEN AND TURN OFF WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. ALSO, THE PLASTIC MOLDING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BOTTOM DOOR CAME OFF AND THE RUBBER TRUNK SEAL CAME LOOSE IN SEVERAL PLACES. UPDATED 10/21/13

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2011 Toyota Yaris Hatchback verdict →
