HIT A DEER WITH MY TRUCK. FUEL PUMP RUNS ALL THE TIME. HAD TRUCK TESTED. WAS PURL PUMP RELAY BYPASS KIT. OTHER MODELS ARE RECALLED FOR THIS SAME REASON. ALSO TRANSMISSION IS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. TESTED THAT TOO. IT'S THE LR SOLENOID IN THE COM. NONE OF THIS ISSUES WAS WRONG BEFORE HITTING THE DEER. I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING TO APPROXIMATELY 100 MPH. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TURNED OFF; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE REVVED EVEN THOUGH THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A ROLLING STOP WHEN IT WAS PLACED IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO SELL THE CONTACT A NEW VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

IN A NUTSHELL,, MY TRUCK HAD ABOUT,,,14K MIKES ON IT. PURCHASED NEW. IT TOOK OFF IN EXESS OF 100MPH. COULDN'T STOP IT!!!!!!! ALMOST KILLED MY SON AND I!! HAVE BEEN FIGHTING, EVER SINCE TO GET CHRYSLER TO REPLACE THE MOTOR,, AS IT SOUNDS EVERY BEARING IN THE MOTOR,, WHEN I FINALLY PUT TRANSMISSION IN NEAUTRAL TO STOP THE TRUCK. TO DATE, THE TRUCK HAS A REARMAIN LEAK, BECAUSE OF INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE MOTOR. CHRYSLER, TRIED TO TAKE THE CHEAPER WAY OUT AND ONLY REPLACE A PART AT A TIME. IN DOING SO THIS,COST THEM WAY MORE $. MOTOR NO LONGER HAS A BEARING NOISE. BUT IT DOES HAVE A REARMAIN LEAK. THAT THEY HAVE TRIED TO REPAIR 3XS SO FAR!! NOW,,,,, I'M STILL WAITING TO SEE IF THEY WILL REPLACE THE MOTOR, OR TRY AGAIN??? LAST I KNEW THE GOSLDEN RULE WAS 3 XS AND URE OUT!!!! MY PATIENCE, IS GONE. THE TRUCK, HAS SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE IN A DEALERS GARAGE. AND MOST OF ITS 40K MILES ARE FROM THE DEALERS TECH. I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE EVERYTHING I SAY. ALL FROM THE DAY IT TOOK OFF ON ME. THE REAL PROBLEM IS..... WHY DID IT TAKE OFF? AND THE ANSWER TO THAT. I FIGURED OUT. WHO WANTS THAT INFO? CAUSE I HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT. IT TOOK 3 YRS. TO FIGURE OUT. IS ALL I WANT IS A NEW VEHICLE, AS I NEVER GOT TO ENJOY THAT. JUST COST ME ALOT OF TIME, AND $.

MY RAM 1500 INEXPLICABLY CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED TO THE GROUND AFTER SITTING OUTSIDE FOR APPROXIMATELY 12 HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED, AS WERE THE BED COVER, THE TAILGATE, AND THE RAM BOXES. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE BED OR RAMBOXES. WE WERE ALERTED TO THE FIRE AT AROUND 6 AM BY 1) AN EXPLOSION AND 2) NEIGHBOR ALERT. WHEN WE WENT OUTSIDE THE TRUCK'S BED WAS ENGULFED IN FIRE, AND THE FIRE LOOKED TO BE FROM UNDERNEATH AND COMING UP AROUND THE BED. THE EXPLOSION WAS EITHER THE SPARE TIRE OR THE GAS TANK. WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE ENTIRE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED, AND COMPLETELY BURNED/MELTED, ETC., WITHIN 25 OR SO MINUTES WHEN THE FIRE DEPT. FINALLY ARRIVED TO PUT IT OUT. THE FIRE MARSHAL DECLARED THAT THE CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED, AS DID THE INSURANCE COMPANY'S LAB AFTER THEY EXAMINED THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. WE LIVE IN A GATED, VIDEO MONITORED SMALL COMMUNITY AND REVIEW OF THE TAPES SHOWED NO STRANGE ACTIVITY. THERE IS NO HISTORY OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY IN THIS AREA, AND CERTAINLY NO ARSON. THE GROUND SURROUNDING THE TRUCK WAS WET (IT WAS PARKED ON A CONCRETE PARKING SPACE) AS THE SPRINKLERS HAD RECENTLY RUN (GRASS, SHRUBS). REALLY NOT SURE IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE RAM, BUT GIVEN THAT ARSON ALSO SEEMS VERY UNLIKELY I THOUGHT WE SHOULD DOCUMENT THIS IN CASE THERE ARE OTHER EVENTS. *KB
