I HAVE A CAMSHAFT FAILURE IN A 2011 RAM 1500. IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE IN A TRAFFIC JAM AND HAS ME STUCK 400 MILES FROM HOME. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT COST ABOUT 5000 DOLLARS TO FIX. IT IT OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BECAUSE THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY REPORTS OF THIS. MY VEHICLE IS REGULARLY SERVICED WITH FULL SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL AND I RUN MID GRADE OR PREMIUM FUEL ALL THE TIME. THIS PROBLEM IS WITH ALL 5.7L HEMI'S NOT JUST THE RAM. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW FROM THIS DEALER AND HAVE HAD ALL SERVICE, RECALL AND REPAIRS DONE AT THIS DEALER. I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT THIS TYPE OF CATISTROPHIC FAILURE COULD OCCUR AT ANY TIME DURING MY OWNERSHIP, EITHER BY THE DEALER OR CHRYSLER CORP. THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE INTERNAL PART THAT COULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, BEFORE THE PART FAILED FOR $700.00. CHRYSLER DID ASSIGN A CASE NUMBER AND A WORKER THAT WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE A "ONE TIME GOOD WILL" AMOUNT OF $3000.00 TOWARD THE REPAIRS. I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMAINING $6797.00. P0305 CODE RE-OCCURED WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF REPAIR.
