WHEN STARTING, THE ENGINE OCCASIONALLY MAKES A RATTLING NOISE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND AFTER STATING THAT NO CODES WERE CAPTURED, THEY CLEARED THE CODE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED THE CAM POSITION SENSOR, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD FIX IT. IT DIDN'T AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WITH A RATTLING AT THE START WHICH NOW OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY. NOW THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AT THE START AND OCCASIONALLY WHEN DRIVING AT ROAD SPEEDS AND DRY CONDITIONS. THE VAN LOSES POWER AND IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO PULL OVER WHEN DRIVING, OR IF IT OCCURS AT STARTING, I HAVE TO SHUT THE VAN DOWN AND RESTART THE VAN AND THIS CORRECTS THE PROBLEM. THE NEXT TIME IT OCCURS, I WILL JUST DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER AND SHOW THEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEEM TO BELIEVE ME OR THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I SEE THAT I AM NOW NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TOO. *TR

How to use these: a complaint is one owner’s report, filed voluntarily and published unverified. Patterns matter more than any single story. If several owners describe the same failure at similar mileage, put that system at the top of your pre-purchase inspection list. Back to the full 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan verdict →
